Part 9 of our In Christ series, entitled  “Light” from Ephesians 5:1–21, teaches that holiness is not the opposite of joy but the gateway to a truly joyful and fully alive life. Paul’s call to holy living is expressed through three ways of “walking”: walking in love, walking as light, and walking in wisdom. The central message is that God’s commands are not meant to restrict life but to free people from endless craving and emptiness, because the Spirit-filled, holy life is the life for which people were ultimately created—a life marked by gratitude, freedom, purpose, influence, and genuine joy.
